Holiday Costa Rica Canoe Trip 2007-2008



This is a great trip for those who want to see lot of the best of Costa Rica around the holidays. We visit the tropical rainforest and dry forest, paddle several of the best rivers, see lots of wildlife, and explore waterfalls and volcanoes. For those who elect to take the Manuel Antonio extension, we also visit one of the most beautiful beaches. If you would also like to explore San Jose, plan to arrive a day earlier.

Dec 27   Arrive San Jose - Hotel Don Carlos.

Dec 28  Drive to Sarapiqui – Paddle Rio Puerto Viejo – La Quinta.

Dec 29 Visit La Selva Biological Station- Paddle Rio Sarapiqui – La Quinta.

Dec 30 Drive to La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano Paddling Rio Penas Blancas - Hotel San Bosco.

Dec 31 Hike to La Fortuna Waterfall and explore Arenal Volcano - Hotel San Bosco.

Jan 1 Drive to Cano Negro with possible paddle – CN Fishing Club.

Jan 2 Paddle Los Patos & Rio Frio – Motor boat to upper lagunas – CN Fishing Club.

Jan 3 Drive to Canas – Paddle Rio Corobici – Hotel Laguna.

Jan 4 Return to San Jose and Hotel Don Carlos or take extension trip to Manuel Antonio Costa Verde Inn (San Jose) or Hotel Costa Verde (Manuel Antonio)

Jan 5 Return Flights or explore Manuel Antonio National Park – Hotel Costa Verde

Jan 6 Return to San Jose from Manuel Antonio - Costa Verde Inn

Jan 7 Return Flights for those who visit Manuel Antonio National Park.

The trip cost includes all land cost after arrival in Costa Rica on the 27th including airport transfers, all meals and lodging, boats, gear, paddling, and guides, land transportation, and admission & fees, etc.

Not included are personal purchases, alcoholic beverages, and laundry service.

Cost for the 9 day basic trip ranges from $1440 to $1620 per person depending on the size of the group which is limited to 12 persons. Cost for the 11 day trip with the Manuel Antonio extension ranges similarly from $1760 to $1980.
